The Firs Mission Statement
Mission Statement:
To serve the local church and community by drawing groups and individuals to a camp and retreat setting where they will experience the Biblical message of Jesus through instruction, creative activities and significant relationships, resulting in changed lives.
How will the greater Firs’ organizational values be enhanced by this project?
Impacting lives for Christ: We intend to make room for impact.
Communicating the Bible as truth: By mitigating the crowding and noise that has characterized meal- time at Firwood, we hope to make more room in kids’ hearts and minds to hear the gospel and respond to Christ. Even a Dining Hall is a learning environment and we want the path to the cross to be free of road blocks.
Partnering with the local church: Offering a warm, dry place to eat and meet, greatly enhances the church’s ability and inclination to utilize Firwood for its ministries.
Serving well in a safe environment: Without this new facility, we cannot maintain the quality of service to which The Firs is committed.
Maintaining fiscal integrity: Commensurate with regular camp fee increases, we believe it is our responsibility to provide an improved “product,” as well. We want to make sure we are giving camper’s families the best value for their discretionary dollar.
Focusing on faith: Advancing, not retreating, is our goal. We believe that God will continue to show Himself faithful not just in this project, but as He brings people to Himself as the end result.
